Don't miss our 2012 Warbird Airshow! (Flyer)
RC Warbirds Air Show. Saturday March 10 and Sunday March 11 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. See flying scale models of military aircraft from World War I to current aircraft including everything from fighters to bombers. Many of these planes and pilots come from outside the immediate area for this event.

The event is sponsored by the Charlotte Radio Control Society and conducted at its Shell Creek Model Airfield near the Punta Gorda water treatment plant on Washington Loop Road just a few miles east of I75 exit 164 and highway 17. (Take 17 a few miles east of I 75 and turn right on Washington Loop Road – at the Shell Creek signs – then turn right on a short dirt road just past the water plant to the airfield).

A great family activity that includes not only the air show but also the chance to view these detailed models “up close” and learn about RC. A small $3 parking donation per vehicle is requested but not required for visitor observers ($20 landing fee for participating pilots.) Burgers, Hot Dogs and soft drinks are also offered for sale.
